Web deployment services.

Red7 owns and maintains web servers in San Jose, California. Hosted in a controlled, monitored 24x7 environment, these powerful XServes support our knowledgebase and full-immersion technologies. We provide custom hosting to our customers on these servers. We also use shared servers running Unix, Solaris and Windows, which are located in professionally-hosted facilities in San Jose, to provide DNS, some email and other services to our customers. Our software monitoring services track the performance of customers' web sites 24x7 and provide SMS and email notification of problems within minutes.

Standard base-level hosting package:

  • Web server (Apache) supporting HTML, DHTML, Perl and PHP, including 1gB storage for the combined services listed below;
  • Email (five accounts) using Kerio MailServer 6 which supports POP3, SMTP, IMAP and webmail via web interface;
  • Secure (HTTPS) access to webmail;
  • McAfee server-based virus detection (inbound and outbound) and elimination;
  • SpamEliminator and other anti-spam features;
  • Group and individual calendering (via secure web interface);
  • Group and individual address books (via secure web interface);
  • FTP access to web space;
  • FTP server;
  • Bandwidth for medium-traffic web and email;
  • This is on a shared server in San Jose or San Francisco, California.
  • $25 per month.

Add-ons:

  • Package of 10 email accounts with all group services listed above and an additional 1gB of storage; $25 additional per month.
  • 24x7 monitoring of your web site with email and/or SMS notification to your mobile device; this monitors specific pages (pages are checked every 15 to 20 minutes) and notifies you if they are unreachable, or if their size changes (meaning a change has been made to the page); $10 additional per month. We can also monitor your pages on servers other than our own.

Terms of service:

  • No spamming; no advertising or promoting of illegal, unethical or illicit services;
  • You may create and use mail-lists but you must confirm every email address on your list by full-round-trip (they sign up, you send a confirmation message, they click to confirm), or by a process whereby every subscriber first sends a message to our server requesting that they be listed (we provide the latter as part of our service); and you may add individuals with whom you have a documented business relationship as long as you've given them the choice of opting out;
  • We expect you to use a "reasonable" amount of bandwidth - if you repeatedly use more than 512kbits/second and we incur additional charges for bandwidth, we will limit or terminate your services and/or expect you to pay for higher-tier bandwidth;
  • Everything on your web site must belong to you; no use of copyrighted materials of any sort without permission (includes video, photos, audio, for instance);
  • We're pretty informal, but we expect you to treat this as a cooperative venture, since we see it that way.
